There are a range of opportunities to undertake higher degrees looking at the interaction of chronic diseases, specifically how chronic kidney disease affects other disease epidemiology, and vice versa.
Camperdown - School of Public Health
Masters/PHD
Several projects are being undertaken to investigate incidence, survival, screening, staging and treatment of cancer, cardiovascular disease, mental illness, and other illness in the context of chronic kidney disease. Some projects involve studies within Australia and New Zealand, and others broader global collaboration. Funding is not generally available, but there is opportunity to be involved with research teams and programs of work, through development of your own embedded and related projects.
My multidisciplinary team is based in the School of Public Health, but it is also possible to work from the Westmead campus. I support flexible study plans including students studying part time and remote from campus. I prioritise supervising students who have post graduate methods training (eg MPH, Masters of Epidemiology or Biostatistics). International students are welcome if they have planned support for their fees and living expenses.
