Masters/PHD
We have several projects available that involve medicinal chemistry against challenging protein-protein interaction targets.
Ongoing areas of drug discovery research include:
- mRNA/phage display: discovering inhibitors of telomere extension using peptide screening technologies (J. Med. Chem. 2025, 68, 12615-12625)
- Small molecule med chem: optimising hits from fragment-based screening and small molecule HTS (Meth. Enzymol. 2024, 698, 361-378)
- New targets: using the above techniques against an array of viral and cancer-associated protein-protein interactions
These projects are suited for students who are interested in the interface between chemistry and biology. Previous experience in organic chemistry or medicinal chemistry is desirable. Feel free to contact Assoc. Prof. Lau to learn more about the project, the application process, and potential funding opportunities.
The projects are available for both PhD and MPhil students.
NO associated scholarship opportunity.
