The Effects of Changing the Inlet Gas Temperature and Drying Atmosphere in Spray Drying on Particle Properties

Summary

In this project, the effects of changing the inlet gas temperature and drying atmosphere in spray drying on particle properties, such as the degree of crystallinity, the bulk density, powder flowability, and crystal shape and structure, will be explored.

Supervisor

Professor Timothy Langrish.

Research location

Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering

Program type

N/A

Synopsis

In addition, an inert gas loop will be used to change the drying atmosphere from air to other gases, such as carbon dioxide and nitrogen, as a way to use these gases to control the particle properties.
