The Stenocara beetle (a native of the Namibian desert in Africa) has a unique external surface comprised of hydrophilic/hydrophobic regions which act as a water capture device. The aim of this project is to mimic this structure and adapt it for water capture from the atmosphere in inherently dry climates.
